Bill graduated from Central Washington University, Ellensburg, WA in 1976, earning his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting.  Upon graduation, he joined a local firm where he served as a staff accountant for 7 years and while there, obtained licensure as a Certified Public Accountant.  During his tenure with the firm he developed experience in a variety of tax and financial reporting areas.  

In 1982, he established an independent practice of public accounting from which he has served the Central Washington area for over 27 years.  His well-established practice and many years of experience provide him with the significant depth and breadth of knowledge necessary to meet the critical and ever-changing accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance needs of a variety of industries.  Some areas of interest and practice concentration include a variety of professional services fields (medical, dental and legal), construction, retailing and farming operations, as well as estate and gift tax planning, consulting and reporting engagements.  

In January 2010, Bill merged his practice with Hansen Neiffer, P.S., to become a shareholder of the expanded firm that has become Hansen NvO, PS.  He devotes his practice time to the Yakima office and is primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Yakima office, as well as firm-wide financial reporting matters and quality assurance review. 

Bill is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of CPAs.  He is also actively involved in Sun Valley Church where he serves as a Deacon.  He remains involved in his community through his service on various boards as well as professional committees at both the Local and State levels.  

Born in Fryslân, a province in the north of the Netherlands, Bill emigrated to the United States of America with his parents in 1956.  He was raised in the lower Yakima Valley.  He and his wife, Beverly, recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary.  They have two children:  daughter Corrie, a graduate of Seattle Pacific University, is a large commercial accounts assistant manager for a regional insurance agency headquartered in Yakima, and son Ryan, a graduate of George Fox University, Newberg, OR, is employed as a CPA in the assurance services division of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Portland, Oregon office.  Bill is an avid reader, and when time permits, enjoys dabbling with photography and drawing.  A small pleasure is commuting to his office each day in his dream car, a 1963 Volkswagen Beetle.  And he still wears wooden shoes, though not to the office!
