Paul Neiffer
Paul grew up on a wheat farm located just outside the small town of Dixie, Washington (the first small town East of Walla Walla on highway 12). He attended grade school with only 6 kids in his class through 6th grade and then went to schools in Walla Walla. Paul graduated from the University of Washington in 1983 with a degree in Business Administration concentration in accounting. In May, 1983, he joined Moss Adams, a large regional accounting firm in Yakima, Washington. During his more than six years at Moss Adams, he was engaged in a broad base of client, accounting and tax experience.
In 1989, Paul joined two other CPAs; moved to Bend, Oregon; and formed Stevens, Neuman and Neiffer, CPA’s. In the early 1990’s Paul helped start a company that handled tax deferred exchanges for real estate transactions. During the next few years, Paul personally handled the formation of offices in Austin and Dallas, Texas and Des Moines, Iowa. Both the accounting and tax deferred exhange business grew rapidly during the 8+ years that Paul was in Bend.
In 1998, Paul accepted an offer to become Chief Operating Officer of Printing Press, Inc., a company which provided printed and thermoformed plastic packaging products. From 1998 until its sale in 2004, the company revenues grew by about 200% and had four operating plants at the time of sale.
Paul opened his Kennewick Certified Public Accounting office in December, 2003 and on August 1, 2005 merged his practice with Scot Hansen P.S. to form the new CPA firm of Hansen Neiffer P.S. In January, 2010, this firm merged with the Yakima based van Oostrom accounting firm to form the current company, Hansen NvO. Paul believes that being involved in various business interests allows him to provide both practical business and tax advice to his clients.
Paul is married with four sons. He enjoys reading, playing golf, and driving motorcycles with his wife when the weather is good. If you see a man on a yellow BMW K1200S motorcycle riding with a lady on a Suzuki GSX 750 motorcycle, you probably have found Paul (there are even times when his wife beats him in a race).
