Scot Hansen
Scot served in the United States Navy for four years prior to entering Central Washington University in 1979. He graduated magna cum laude with a degree in accounting and passed the CPA exam prior to graduating from college in 1983. He then moved back home to Kennewick, WA and joined Neimi, Holland & Scott, a regional CPA firm with an office in Kennewick. In 1986, he changed to the local firm of Franklin & Associates where he became a partner in January, 1989. On July 1 of 1990 he formed his own CPA practice. Scot merged his practice with the firm of his current partner, Paul Neiffer, on August 1, 2005 to become the current firm of Hansen Neiffer, PS.
In 1993 Scot formed Northwest Exchange Facilitators, Inc., a company that facilitates IRC Section 1031 exchanges. He has become a well known and often consulted exchange facilitator in Southeastern Washington and Northeastern Oregon.
Scot currently serves on the boards of three non-profit charitable organizations as well as the Tri-Cities Development Council (TRIDEC). He also belongs to the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and the Tri-Cities Estate Planning Council.
Scot has been married to Janice for over 25 years and they have two sons and a daughter in college (he is looking forward to the pay raise when they graduate). He is an active member of Bethel Church in Richland, WA and enjoys being outdoors taking care of the landscaping or hiking, water skiing and spending time on Coeur d’Alene Lake, and snow skiing. He is also a car guy and enjoys classic Chevy muscle cars, especially Camaros.
